| Well it seems that the perl module and in particular the Apache::registry handler is so kind as to fill in my http headers for me which has the unfortunate side effect of making my cookie setting arguments invalid. I am going to have to read up on mod_perl now and setting cookies, but untill then it is back to the regular style perl interpreter. I wish it worked cause the server was sure serving up the error messages fast! Thanks to Czar for calling it to my attention, sorry for any inconvinience that was caused. | I have been working on the server all afternoon and I upgraded it to RedHat 6.2 (Zoot). So hopefully this release will fix some problems I was having and serve up webpages a litle quicker including the cgi scripts as I now have mod_perl installed. | For the administrators out there, I have written a little script that will allow us to enter in the result of our matches and have them displayed in a match history screen. Everyone can view it here. I will put a link on the navigation menu on the right when I get a second. Only problem is that it is for a team of 15 players and teh cash prize would be a max of $400.00 for the entire tribe. | New feature added for the Calendar! Administrative users can now schedule a match and prepare a match roster from the admin functions. Users are able to view the roster via the calendar function. Simply click on the day that a match is scheduled for and, if it was scheduled correctly, it will come up with the match roster. | Well I have been fiddling around a little more and have managed to get all the shifter servers that are registered on the tribes master and check them with the KRS. I have been having some problems but I think/hope it is working on scanning them all. I read the suggestions in the public message board and I included a paramater where you get a bonus if your score is more than 50% of your teams score. This is not as large as winning a map but this rewards players that do a lot for their team (or at least so we hope. The switching teams to the losing side thing is being looked at and considered. The server list that the scanning program runs on updates once a day so only servers that are consistently up and have the same ip address will be scanned. There is the possibility that I could make it go more often but it really depends. - Mandrake |

| I must say that one of the coolest ideas I have ever concieved within the vastness of my skull is coming to fruition. Thats right, the Kindread Blood Bank ranking system will soon be available for viewing. It is already collecting stats on people. I hope that this system will be more accurate than the system on the CLQ. It is based on team points and how well they function together rather than individual peak performance. It works more as an average points system as well. My suggestions are that if you want higher ranking you need to maintain a high level of play with consistently high points per game. You are awarded points for your team being and staying in the lead and also for winning a map. Anyway, I still need to build the front end for it but I must say that I am very excited and they should be done soon. - Mandrake |

It was, however, geared toward the "hardcore" gamer -- if you didn't have a basic understanding of player roles, in-game commands, and multiplayer FPS games in general, you were going to get killed. A lot. Over and over. It was a steep learning curve, to say the least. Tribes 2 has alleviated this by including the almost mandatory bots, along with 10 training missions and two single-player minicampaigns. These additions should help new players hone their skills, and it will give veteran players both a refresher course and an introduction to the many new facets of this game. So there you have it. | I have been here now looking at the code and reading documentation on cookies for the past 2 days. I still do not understand what is different about Internet Explorer and have come to the conclusion that Internet Explorer is stupid. I have tried to set the cookie the normal way, that is the way it is supposed to work and the way it worked before and nothing. I tried using JavaScript to define the cookie and nothing. So I set up a tribes base server on it with a max of 4 players (it is only a P-133) and called it the Kindread Clan Conflict Resolution Server. This is where you guys can go and battle it out base style when you are having some difficulty and can't seem to see each others point of view. Trial by combat.
